best ATT non smart phone today?

my mom needs a new phone and is eligible for an upgrade.

what do I recommend? (aka give me phones to research)

criteria:

  • not a smart phone
  • under $100 with contract renewal

Nokias are always rock-solid in terms of reception and stability, even the entry-level variety. If they have one of those listed I would check it out.

I have found samsungs to be good as well

if it is a basic phone, not used much, just get something cheap

take her to a store and ask for a demo of the phones she likes, she’ll get to see what they’ll be like before spending her cash.

i use a 2+ year old Nokia that was $99. The operating system has its hiccups, but is pretty close to a smart phone (lots of apps), no qwerty, but the price is right.
pretty good camera, video camera, video and photo editing, google maps with gps.

I too vote for a Nokia. Seems like a good value can be had for under $100.
