The 8.1 is better than the 7.4 however both have their issues. Expect 8-9 mpg on average. Honestly a 6.0 2500HD will do everything you want and more.

Yea, I just happened to see a nice truck with that motor for e decent price so I thought I’d ask. Definitely more than I need.

what kind of money are you gonna be spending , 30k ? 20k?, cc or what cab?

20k TOPS, any cab but regular (unless its a reallyyy nice truck)
