I remember the hasek days vividly. He had some sick ones. Nobody had more retarded wtf saves than hasek. They don’t get WAAAAAAAYY better than the caron’s save. Its not possible.

the thing about that Caron save is that it hit the post and came out the other side, and he was able to track it enough to save the rebound which was headed for an open net…i’m sure there was luck involved but definitely a pretty save

edit: that hextall video really only had 3-5 sick saves. Most of it was him chasing people, punching them, swinging his stick etc. Caron’s save is still the best.
I’m not a philly fan, I liked the old flyers, and the biron flyers.
Theres better saves in the hextall video, and tons from when goalies use to have to work twice as hard.
You know when the gear was tiny.

Nothing wrong with old hockey, but the goalies werent as good (might have had something to do with padding, but not everything) and the players werent as fast or strong. Which is why, imo, the saves today are just as good as those from the hextall video.

The Caron save is heralded by the goalie community as the save of the century, if you search it you can find better quality video of it, just a sick save. Hextall had concrete feet, was all reflex and sure a good goalie but hes the last guy i think of when thinkin bout highlight reel saves. Id say look up Mike richter, hasek, broduer, Potvin, Cujo, to start the list.
