Bike Crew: Ducati Monster or Triumph Speed Four?

lol.

Great chassis, in fact, impecible chassis and innovation is there, however the combination with an archaic engine and piss poor fuel injection system just makes for a very annoying ride. The throttle response on those engines both the 9 and the 12 is very weak compared to other V-twin sport bikes such as the Monster s4r or the RC-51.

The brakes although interesting and asthetically pleasing offer little else. They don’t stop as well as a dual rotor brake system and they can “warp” easily. On a bike a warped rotor is enough to make your life flash before your eyes when coming down from +100 mph.

The rear wheel is the best for a dual sided swing arm, no way to mess up the alignment as there is no adjustment and the belt is always in tension due to a tensioner, awesome.

The bike is fucking sexy especially with the rear sets off…but that’s like looking at a hot chick at the bar, getting her home and realizing it’s a dude… kinda ruins your day.

I actually know he guy who is selling that bike…lol

lol @ $5500 :lol:

Yea, he is outta his mind

I wouldn’t even consider a Buell over a Monster, Speedtriple or even SV650. Personally, I went with the SV650 and am very happy with it.

I vote…

^too much going on IMO

And a bit over the top for a first bike!

lol i love benellis. it looks like a fucking transformer.

So, what makes that a cafe racer?

its their take on a new style cafe racer.

seating for 1.
agressive lines that arent the norm.
huge gastank to lay on.
doesnt look like anything else on the road.

its going to be hard to be as inventive as they were in the past when people first started creating cafe style bikes. i at least like that they are giving it a go…

BUT

yeah at the same time they are trying to make a killing by marketing it like a new classic

Transformer = :lol:

I don’t think thats it.
I think its probably marketing. IMO, Café racers were performance over aesthetics. A company will have a hard time selling ugly but fast to
the masses.

I do like it, but it has a ton of stuff going on. It in no way made me think of a café racer until I read the sticker telling me it was.

One things for sure, even if you don’t like the styling they certainly sound good.

Watch take off and then fast forward to 35 sec.

Can someone knowledgeable in pricing PM me? I am looking at two specific bikes and I want to see figure out which one makes more sense. Thanks.

triumph =)

pm me if youd like.

I stopped by HD on Bailey just for fun after breakfast this morning. The Night Rod Special in flat black looks amazing. I think it may be a bit much bike and cash to start with though. :rofl:

Cruisers are pretty forgiving to be honest. I’ve ridden on quite a few, more torquey than anything. Just take the MSF course and you will be fine.
