I am seriously thinking about picking up something in the spring. I am just growing a little tired of cars as of late and am thinking about moving on to a bike. I am not looking for something insane, but I want something that I will be happy with a year from now. Also not looking for new at this point, and this will be used as a cruiser.
After about a month of looking I am in love with the 20XX Ducati 749 Testastretta Bi-Posto Superbikes. They seem to run in the 7-9K range used. I just want some thoughts from some of you seasoned guys as what to look for in the spring.
stay the fuck away from a italian bike… like the women and cars…over priced and overly maintained
but honestly they suck, lack of power and have to get more adjustments and etc often. i think ever 5k they need a valve job. to some thats years to some thats months
I appreciate your input George. Anything that you would recommend for a beginner that has decient power, easier maintance, and amazing looks? I’m open to anything at this point, just want to get all my ducks in a row.
DO NOT buy a 600… unless you like wasting money, you will get used to it in no time and be pissed you didnt buy a bigger bike. I would at least get a GSXR-750 or a liter bike. My 1st bike ever was an 04 GSXR-750 and after like 2 months or so I already wished I bought a liter bike. I am found of all the new 1000’s except the Honda, I hate their street bikes, why? I dunno… just a personal opnion.
not a good idea to buy a 1000 for a first bike!!! 600’s are great beginner bikes, but most likely you will want to move up after a year or so… goodluck
I always love this topic when it comes up. Its just comical…lol
Smalls I started in a zx12 and I’m still alive…lol
Its all in what you are comfortable on (sitting position, weight of the bike and so forth, so go sit on a few different makes and models), what brand you are interested in (they all have their pluses and minuses), how much you want to pay, and knowing your own maturity level when it comes to the happy handle.
