"Ford Motor Co. Chairman and CEO Bill Ford Jr. said Monday that employees who do not believe his plan for reinventing the company is sincere should take a hike.
are you kidding…that’s exactly the attitude he needs to convey if any changes are ever going to get made. Everybody’s job there is disposable and for every job…there’s 100’s of people waiting inline to take it for less money, especially overpaid hourly union members.
^^^^^ true … piss people off so they leave and that way you dont have to go thru the effort to fire them
i dont expect anything amazing from ford tho, if they were gonna pull off anything amazing i think they would have been trying since like i donno … 1983 …
its about time one of those corporate fucks has the balls to say wht they really want to…u dont have to like what the Boss is doing just do it and shit up…Lafengas is right they are all overpaid Union workers that bitch about everythign…if u dont liek it leave…there is someone that will work harder than the previous person would have and wont bitch because he/she now has a job to support his family…but i jsut ramble on
fords quality and designs are starting to look real promising IMHO. On par with that of mazda/nissan/ect in my humble opinion. Who knows what they might become in the next 10 years with the right leadership.
I mean, look at 2006 lineup versus the 1996 lineup… deffinitly a step up if you ask me
ford was really turning around for the better in the late 80’s and esarly 90’s but they changed management in teh mid 90’s and they were totaly profit oreanted and that hurt them big time, now that ford is back under ford ownership they have done a LOT to turn the company back around. look at their vehicle lineup compared to the early 2000’s they have a much better line up now. they have big plans for the future… i do expect amazing things within the next 3-5 years.
The biggest challenge to Ford’s makeover may be the automaker’s hide-bound bureaucracy. Bill Ford on Monday announced a new Web-based system that allows employees to submit ideas directly to his senior management team.
“Sometimes our bureaucracy can be ponderous and not always receptive to a different approach,” Bill Ford said.
More than just a clearer conduit for communicating ideas to the top, the new Web site forces employees to think their ideas through before submitting them.
“The bureaucracy at any company is a tremendous challenge,” Cole said. "You want to shake it to the roots in a period like this.
He’s not going after the workers hes kicking management in the ass. There is no point in trying to change when you have a army of people fighting you. WHat he said is AWESOME. I aplaud him 100%. Help me turn this company around so we dont go bankrupt or GET THE FUCK OUT! By the way FUCK THE UNIONS. Stupid ingnorant fucks have been burying industry in this country. I hope Ford eliminates their unions completely.
You can turn on the news and wach the stupid workers at Delphi force the company to go under while they are standing outside holding their signs.
Ford May Also Close North American Plants
Written by: News Wire
In the wake of General Motors’ recent announcement that it will shut down nine plants in North America (click here for story), cross-town rivals Ford Motor Company are considering the possibility of closing as many as five units, according to the
Wall Street Journal.
The plants mentioned by the WSJ - St. Louis, Atlanta, St. Paul, Windsor (Canada) and Catalan (Mexico) - employ circa 7,000 people. GM’s phased out 30,000 jobs with its restructuring program.
Ford’s North American plants are operating at just 86 percent of their capability.
I see a trend here. First the airlines, now the car manufacturers. The one common denominator? Unions.
i agree 100% with violator and i think that web base program could bring good changes IF they follow through with its intent and i think they will because the ford family really seems to care about its employes.
