here are a few good points that will prove they will not be going anywhere:

There are several venues in the league that are weaker in terms of fan base, attendance, and media market than Buffalo.

-If you measure the actual viewership of the Buffalo TV market, including the Canadian suburbs and contiguous Canadian cities, Buffalo would be considered a large market team. In fact, the Toronto-Buffalo-Rochester mega-region is the fourth largest such region in North America, trailing only New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

-Unlike many larger cities, Buffalo, due to its uniqueness, has a passionate contingent of expats all over the country*. The Bills are among the top teams in terms of viewership of nationally televised games and also in terms of satellite viewership*.

(Similarly, the number of Bills fans nationally is among the top in the league)*.

-The Bills continue to sell out* one of the largest stadiums in the league (Ralph Wilson Stadium) without a single playoff appearance in the last 10 years.

i’m going to predict and say NO team is going to move to LAX… why you say?

well, the NFL has this thing called the expansion fee… team has to pay X amount of dollars to the NFL… the last expansion team (Houston Texans) paid $700M… you don’t think the NFL would rather have a NEW team in LAX, rather than have a team move?

The NFL has actively stated they don’t want an expansion team. Anything with LA would have to be through a move.
They have 32 teams. 8 divisions of 4. Finally got things balanced. When they had an odd number scheduling was a giant clusterfuck. Teams had byes every week, including week 1 and week 17.

And newman = buzz killington. Sports is the only interesting conversation to be had in a corporate environment. Especially compared to gas prices, weather, traffic, people’s kids, and bitching about work, which constitutes the rest of the options.

When I lived in hamburg, I would argue that I hoped they would move.

Since stadium traffic is no longer a concern of mine, I will simply say that I don’t care.

While it’d be great to think that “sports talk” around the office would decrease, it probably wouldn’t.

I hate hearing people talk about sports.

I just read about the Buffalo waterfront projects, looks pretty good. With sabres games right there, that place should be busy. Whats up with buffalo Creek Casino?

IDK, i have hilarious conversations about my coworkers… however, most of them are stories about shit I did that week…

It takes two to tango…People always like to hear about my antics but I don’t want to be the center of attention all of the time for my shenanigans when I’m the youngest one in my dept by 20 years and have to constantly prove that “corporate maturity” crap. I finally told some of my stories at the christmas party and I get people asking about my alcoholic/sexual escapades first thing on monday mornings. Then I let them do the talking and it’s back to gas prices and their kids.

Its due to the area. Friends of mine who moved to Vegas, LA, Hawaii don’t give a shit about organized sports. There is plenty to do besides talk about sports teams.

Why do you think that Iowa has such a rabid Hawkeye fan base, or Columbus has OSU football?

Buffalo Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold responded to a story from California about relocation to L.A. Here is what he said.
“Mr. Wilson has repeatedly stated on record that he has no intentions of moving or selling the team. In fact, he has stated that he will ‘take the team to the wall’. This is a Los Angeles story not a Bills story.”
The man behind a new football palace in Los Angeles is interested in moving one of seven teams to the City of Angels, and sees Buffalo as one of his prime options. The Bills have adamantly denied any reports of relocation. Hopefully this will end the talks of any such relocation rumors that have been circulating in the media.
