Why @bing ?
We are getting what we have voted for.
Well that’s one way to curb immigration…
“I never realized that living in a Western country, you can only afford renting a room in the basement,”
On average in Canada about 60% of household income would be needed to cover home ownership costs, a figure that rises to about 98% for Vancouver and 80% for Toronto, RBC said in a September report.
oh, i posted that in the other thread… i wonder what happened tho?
Holy F, someone let a journo type true words in an article up here:
for ya’ll
This explains why when we’re in a pinch and buy “real maple syrup” from somewhere like Aldi it’s nowhere near as good as the Schilling Maple Syrup we get from our friend’s farm in Alden. Their farm is small and the syrup is made old school, where I’m sure anything you get from a big place like Aldi is coming from a megafarm using all the new tech to make it as fast as possible while sacrificing flavor.
Yeah that was informative actually. I have new respect for the tiny producers in ADK.
Also, lol
… and that their syrup cartel…
Police warning people don’t post video of people stealing your packages because that could be defamation.
Well that’s not accurate at all. Defamation requires false statements (e.g. slander and or libel) the immediate defense to defamation/slander/libel are that the statements are true.
Edit: Unless the law is different in Canada? Also the tweet mentions violation of privacy which in the US, there is no expectation of privacy 1. In Public and 2. On private property where you aren’t a guest
The cop is arguing defamation because these people are innocent until proven guilty. You’re posting videos saying they’re porch pirates, yet they have not been convicted of any crime yet. It’s stupid logic, but it’s the kind of mental gymnastics the left loves to do to protect criminals while punishing victims.
I get that but it’s a ridiculous argument because you’re literally posting them in the act of doing it, making it a fact. Someone should dig up that police station posting a video of a crime being committed where they are asking the help from the public to identify the criminal, which police, and the news, do all the time. It’s the same exact thing.
i’ve had a number of conversations with fairly serious dudes (officers of public companies, dudes that owned 7 new car dealers etc.) this week about why no one can find competent 40 year old men to run their businesses or divisions for them…
this kind of bullshit is why.
people will go where they are treated best. these ‘laws’ drive law abiding, competent people (those who have options) away and invite criminals.
that’s why we cant have nice things
