He apparently sent a package to a Syracuse TV station with a letter, his gun permits and license/picture ID. By what I understand, the letter was full of tin-foil-hat stuff, blaming “undercover police” for all his problems.
People that far out of whack will have no compunction about gunning down others “to prove a point”. It’s too bad that we can’t weed these people out beforehand.
We do. As such, we don’t really hear about them. They’re not out shooting up immigration centers.

My point is simply that the world is not perfect, but much is done to identify and treat people in society that are mentally ill. Short of a complete authoritarian state in which there is no privacy and it’s citizens are subject to regular psychological screening, this is the world we live in. The costs we bear as a society can sometimes be bitter, but we must palate them in order to remain who we are.
