BMW Guys: Need Help Misfire

Nah, they are not a new car shop. They deal in everything from a 1998 GMC Jimmy all the way to a 2010 911. The dealer was very upfront that he would get me a new clutch and fix the misfire and that he really didn’t trust his tech to be working on this specific car. The guy I went to, Mike at Michael’s Eastside Service was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to get this right.

Intake manifold has to come off to replace that stupid oil separator, it’s on the back side and next to impossible to get the screws out with it in place. Should have replaced the valley pan while it was off b/c that’ll be leaking coolant, then the thermostat, and eventually the radiator and coolant reservoir too…

Yeah, he said it was a huge pita and replaced several surrounding parts while he was in there. I didn’t ask too many questions as he was super busy and I wasn’t paying him.

The issues that you are having with the 540 are due to a bad head gasket. I think the coolant leaking into cylinder 1 and has caused the walls to become scored. Therefore loss of compression etc…

motor is fucked.

Your welcome, now you owe me to wiring stuff…

Wait wait wait… Did you just make up a “quote” so that you could get me to do stuff.

All you have to do is ask, I like doing you favors  yeshomowasintended

Maybe once all of this gets sorted out with the seller, I’ll post a nice borescope video of cylinder #5 with the pressure tester on the cooling system. It’s kinda cool.

I’ll have the rest of the paperwork together shortly, however.

I would enjoy that picture if you can get it.

Done. I put it over here: http://www.nyspeed.com/showthread.php?218882-WWYD-V.-Blown-Motor
