BMW - Iforged wheels

thats not true, its the design of the wheel hoop… where the 3 pieces meet there is a small indent that they sit in… this indent is bigger then the 3 pieces giving water a place to collect…

that sounds just silly to me… it’s a friggin bead of sealant… if you wheel vibrates for that reason just cut the bead, clean it off and redo it.

i’ve had buddies rip apart thier 3 peice wheels literally just for fun, like lego type fun, and redo them with no issues.

the water gets in from both sides, front and rear… big gobs of sealant on the front of the rim wouldnt be very attractive

1 piece forged volks 4 L

i’d like to see more bims running some pimp LE-37’s or something

there are a bunch running TE37/LE37

ah true

and wtf was i thinking? the tire would prevent water from getting in there anyways…lol

pics? googling now

edit

aiiiite

there will be one more too, well in 3 months

I know of a set of the time attacks on white, not sure on red though

meh can’t find it

I think those Iforged look killer on the 335, it’s too bad they seem to have some issues. I have never been a fan on Volks on E46’s though, guess it’s just a personal preference.

Just make sure they’re gold…no gold wheels…no care

just to set the record straight the ONLY iforged wheels that have problems with water are the 3 piece reverse lip wheels.

HRE, maya etc all the wheels that are made by that same manufacturer (there are more, not sure of their names) all suffer from teh same issue

yea but my point is the ones in the ebay link are a 2 piece wheel so he shouldnt have any problems with the water issue…

not true, my 2 pc dtm wheels were made by iforge and have exactly that problem…which is why i am selling gthem for 400.00…nowhere near the 2800.00 they were brand new…

all wheels with a center recessed channel have this problem. every single one. if the channel is raised instead of lowered (bbs lm’s) there is no problem, and then you have a relatively light 2 pc wheel. lower cost and more styles, and thats the only reason for it.

from what i was reading people were only complaining about the 3 piece lips having that problem…either way = :ham:

Take it from me… the owner of gauran-fucking-teed the largest 3-piece iForged wheels on this site… or 3-piece of any type for that matter.

ITS NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL.

I have driven hundreds of miles in downpours with these wheels at up to 100 MPH (yeah, not the smartest move in a downpour)

The vibration is minimal at best, and trust me, it can hold a lot of water in there. When sitting, you could easily fit 4-6 ounces before it flows out.

And there seems to be some confusion here. There is an indent in the inner wheel barrel forming another lip further in that is used when making the wheel (supposedly). It stands about 1/2 inch high, all the way around. The water collects between this ridge and the actual 3-peice mating surface where all of the bolts and flanges are. Roughly, on my front 11" wide wheels, it is about 2.5" in from the outside of the wheel to the inside of the mating flange, and the distance from the inside of the wheel to the inside of the rear ridge is about 4", leaving a good ~6" of area for the water to collect. My rears have roughly the same area even though they are wider as the outer lip makes up the additional 2".

icek no thanks

I wouldn’t want to risk having problems after spending 2g’s
