BMW question!

my friend has an 07 328xi and her angel eyes around the lights on the left side are out, her little screen says “left headlight malfunction”…i don’t know much about them, i don’t know if its a bulb, or if you have to replace the whole round thing, or if maybe its a fuse since both are out on the left side. anyone know? thanks!!

it’s a bulb… you can upgrade by replacing with high output LEDs or just go OEM again.

a quick google found this:

because i was thinking that it was a fuse because its both…but i don’t know

The two angel eyes share the same bulb.

oh alright…i didn’t know that, thanks, stupid german cars!

coupe or sedan? the sedan bulbs are quite a bit more expensive and kind of a pain to install

What he said ^^^ sedan takes a bit because they go in from under the light, coupe is lift the hood and go in above the light.

X…

It really isn’t that bad of a DIY. The OEM bulb is like $65 from the dealer, so you are paying $200 labor for something you can easily do in an hour or two.

The easiest way is to jack up the car. Remove the wheel. Remove the front fender liner (8-10) bolts. Then you have easy access to the bulb. There are 2 clips that hold the bulb access door in place, remove them. There are another 2 screws that hold the bulb in place, remove them. Then remove the 2 wire connectors on the bulb. Take the bulb out, replace with new and reinstall everything.

First time doing this it took me about 30-45 min for one side. So as long as you have a jack, a few sockets( 17, 10, 8 mm), flat screwdriver, T-15 torx driver, it is a very easy solution.

While your there might as well upgraded bulb route while you are at it.
