Boat Thread

Since this seems to be a non existing topic so far… Who has what and where/when do you hit the water?

I picked up a 94’ Maxum 2000SRB a few months ago from NJ. I try to get it out every week end or so. Me and Underboosted usually try to hit the Mohawk or Hudson river with his jetski and my boat on the weekends as much as possible.

We’ve got:
11’ inflatable dinghy with a mercury 9.9 2-stroke on it (boat and motor combined weigh about 130lbs), does about 25mph, flies off wakes nicely.

1989 Sea Ray Sundancer 220DA. Got it last summer, great boat. Room to sleep a few people, fridge, bathroom, 22" flatscreen in the cabin, and a pretty rediculous stereo inside and out (TV and audio installed by previous owner). Unfortunately it only has a 225hp 4.3L, so 32mph is all you are gonna get out of it. Fast enough I suppose.

1969 Luhrs 32’ Sedan Bridge. Neglect/restoration. Huge and badass, fiberglass hull, wooden superstructure, which needs repairs. Interior feels like a living room, there’s so much space. Also a ton of deckspace since it was originally designed for charter fishing. Twin 318 Chrysler’s, 225hp each. Don’t know how fast it goes, but it does about 8mph with both engines idling in gear (its slightly overpropped).

My family uses our boats on the Mohawk, launching out of Schenectady Yacht Club. Since the Sea Ray is trailerable, a few longer trips have been made (Lake Champlain and Oneida Lake).

I have the 4.3 in my maxum. Clocked it at 42mph so far. Usually launch on the mohawk at freemans bridge.

I have a 1998 Yamaha jetski, 3 seater. Been using it in the mohawk, launched last night at freemans bridge road.

my dad has a newer BassCat Puma with a mercury 225hp outboard. shit does 80+ :excited

80mph is insanely fast on water.

yeah it is. especially as a passenger in a single console bassboat :stuck_out_tongue:

Wish I owned a boat, but I go out on my father-in-laws Bayliner 26’ boat. It goes about 40mph, good cruising speed, usually take it out on Schroon Lake.

I’m selling a boat. Needs some work. 95 Sea Doo Speedster. I have had it up to 55 on semi calm water. 2500 obo. I love getting out on the water but I cant afford my own boat right now. I also spend too much time working on the family pontoon boat to keep working on this.

My family has a playbouy pontoon boat on sacandaga. Thing tops out at like 18mph. But it’s great to anchor and get hammered on with a bunch of friends!

I got the seadoo up to 67. Crusin on le river. Lol

Here is a pic of her docked. 225’ Attessa with twin Cat 2Khp’s. We dock it at Martha’s and just take the heli down for the weekends.

1991 GradyWhite 225 Tournament, Yamaha 200hp, Lowrance HDS7, Sony marine deck with 2 6.5" 3 ways. Bought the boat from Smokins grandma this year and our family enjoys it big time. Went out to the Cape with it in july and it kicked ass. Rides great in rough water and is super stable in the seas while fishing. Got it up to around 45mph with people and gear in it, and it still had throttle to go but no reason to push it, motors arent cheap!

98’ Bayliner Capri CC. 120HP Outboard, So far top speed of 52mph by myself. We were usually out on the Hudson a lot, however the Mohawk is a 20min drive and much cleaner. So that’s our new spot when we’re not at sacandaga.

96 Skeeter SS 140 tournament. 56mph with two people and a full load of gear. Usually can see 60mph when im alone and in calm conditions.

LOL, I WISH

Just got an 89 Baja a few weeks ago. It’s a 19 foot fish and ski, closer to a bass boat though. 150hp Johnson outboard does about 55. Has 2 live wells, 65lb thrust trolling motor. Love it.

I had an 84 Larson bow rider which was a good boat but the out drive went.

I also own a 12’ Starcraft with a 6hp Suzuki and a 40lb thrust trolling motor

Criscone was that 52 gps verified? Seems very fast for that boat

I agree. 45mph or around there would seem more accurate with a small 120 and that weight of the boat.

I thought your boat came with a lower lb/thrust trolling motor? 65 should move that well. I have a 67, 24volt on mine and I cant even take it off the slowest setting. Even going into the wind in a decently rough day. The fastest setting makes the boat have a wake lol

Yeah, it had a 55lb 12v on it and a buddy at work had a 65lb 24v monn Kota power drive for sale so I had to get it, much better then the old one. Not to mention the old one was a tiller and this is foot controlled

awesome!

with the 24v your battery charge on the lake will last 3 times as long then a 12v as well.
