Please stop questioning my decision about buying this car. My dad said he’d lend me the money as long as I got a FWD/AWD Nissan, Chysler or Jeep. I only had $8,000 at the time (this spring) so I couldn’t afford to buy my own RWD car, or at least one that I actually wanted. You haven’t paid your daddy a single penny for his car so you have no leg to stand on here.

Whatever. I love my car. I’m not trying to play it up to be anything more than it is, from everything that I’ve read, but I’m no expert, the AP1 S2000 doesn’t trap any more than 98MPH stock. Car and Driver tested it 14.1 @ 97 mph, my car was 14.8 @ 97.
The only reason I’m using C&D is because I couldn’t find any other site/magazine that had tested both of our cars.
I’m no Altima fanboi, its fail wheel drive no matter what you do to it, but it pushes the limits of FWD as far as power and handling go and is a fun and reliable first car.
I plan on selling it the day I pay it off, for either an 03-04 Cobra or an E46 ///M3.

For the 8k you had saved you could have bought a 240sx shell and swapped in a SR20det or turboed the KA24 and gotten some nice torque. You could have also purchased an older Miata, turboed it, and install coilovers.
Warranty goes out the door once you add your springs, short shifter, and valve delete thing. There goes your suspension, engine, and transmission warranty.
Papa Kramer pays for your insurance. I actually pay for insurance unlike you so that is also holding my payments back. Around $1800 a year.
I could care less about leather and Bose. I had that in the A4 and I found it unnecessary.

You got lucky with your block but most dealerships will do anything to avoid paying for damage. If he was anyone else this would probably be the case but since his dad has such a position at Armory he could probably get things smoothed over.
Rensellaer Honda where I bought my WRX wouldn’t replace my clutch or bubbled tire because I had a short shifter, springs, sway bar, and reflash. Thats what they told me even tho the car was purchased with the same short shifter and tires. The warranty even said that it covered all parts relating to wheels and tires and also all internal transmission components.
All dealerships are different though and this is just my two cents.

Chuck, your dad specifically told me, and was completely unprovoked, I might add, that you have not paid $.01 to him for the car. Your $150/month for insurance is pussy shit, I’ve paid my dad on almost literally 10x that per month, an average $1,300/month since May 1.
Also, my dad owns the fucking dealership and I am personal friends with the head of the service department. He has told me that if I run everything I want to do to the car by him and he approves it (everything I’ve ever talked about doing has been approved), that there would be no warrantee issues.
Bottom line, I really don’t give a fuck what you think about my car. clutch is a wear item… doesnt get covered unless youve got a hyundai or something. bubbled tire isnt a defect of the manufacturer(most common from a pothole, or a split in the road at a good speed) if the tread separated or something like that its covered, same for the wheel, if you whack a curb and crack it, they arent responsible for it, but if youre driving along and the wheel just splits from the center, thats a defect… you follow??

a clutch, although inside the bell housing of the transmission, isnt an internal transmission part. that would be something like a gear selector fork, synchro, gear shaft, etc.
