Bodywork/Detail Quote

As most of you know i’m in the process of looking for the “right” S13. I’ve found what i believe to be a decent car.

I’m paying 3500 for Cert/etest, new tires on stock 7 spokes and a set of random aftermarket 17"s.

The car has a decent frame but the body is a little worse off then i prefer.
How much would it cost to fix and paint:

well it’s time to sell my S13 and move up. reason for selling is i have a GTR on its way and i need driveway space. This engine has been babied i do my oil changes every 1000km max. i’ll have pics on the weekend.

i’m missing more stuff but the only problem with the car is that it needs to be blended. when i bought the car it had a bodykit which i removed. its about 700 bucks to blend the car(paint the rest of it). the frame rails are very clean for a 1990. i’ll have pics of everything.

The damage on the RR-fender ‘appears’ to be just a minor paint-scuff… Can’t tel l you without seeing it in person, but scuffs of that nature can usually be buffed out 80%+.

No clue as to the other damages.

Make sure the damage to the rear quaters is not bad and fixable… i was hit in the rear quarter and i was told to replace it is 15 hours labour. A fender can be had for cheap off a scrap car but the labour is mad expensive becasue the window has to come off and then be re-sealed to the fender…
In my opinion dont buy it…for 3500 theres way nicer s13’s out there then that. As my friend Hanzzzzz once told me “be patient my young son. just hang in there and dont make a mad n00bzor decision.”

was the shape of that rear fender / quarter changed?
if not it’ll ckean up pretty easy…
but a car thats a 94 and using blocks to stay in the driveway??
make me verrryyy curious as to the last life this baby had.

for 1995’s

  1. any car fully cert’d and e tested should get $3k
  2. any car in good shape (no rust) and cert’d and e tested should get $4k
  3. any car with very low(under 160k kms) mileage and the same as #2 should get $4500-$5000
  4. after that its a rat race

Well i’m actually gonna go look at the car on saturday in the afternoon.
the car is a 92 hatch with a 95 kade with uner 180 000. It has a 300 brake conversion and the underbody looks pretty solid, mostly surface rust. Seller is getting it safetied for me and with new tires and 2 sets of rim.

The body is just what i’m concerned about, i dont want to replace anything and as d-fresh said up there, 15 hours of labor is like sticking an iron rod up my pooper. So if that rear quarter can be fixed, could anyone give me a quote on the front fender, bumper, headlight and rear quarters?

everything lookx fixable except for that passenger fender.
what do they go for $200??
headlight looks fixable…plastic right?
paint work (fancy style with little streamers on the mirrors) $400
no really…i’ll do a little ghosting or whatever for you etc…

this will be as follows

  1. fully repainted fender.
  2. repaired headlight cover(50/50 chance it’ll work)
  3. resurrected front bumper
    re-paint (blow in /blend or ghost) bumper fender and quarter panel etc.
    done properly sand clean and paint…minor wetsand buff & polish

you buy the materials (paint panels etc).
requires 1 full weekend…
will teach you at the same time too.

a macco job will ast maybe 1-2 yrs no matter what.
this will last 4 or 5 with care (wax).

i think that’s the way they come…those rails look pretty good…when i
bought my car first thing i did is fixing my rails…those look good…buy this
special anti rust paint (100$) this will keep your rails in great condition…

If any thing dont even worry about getting stuff “fixed”… bumpers can be had off nissan forums for under 100 bucks same with fenders. you might as well just replace them yourself instead of paying someone to pound it out. and if your getting it resprayed anyways who cares about the colour

the 300zx brakes, the underbody, the newer engine nice, but dont pay 3500 for a banged up car… low ball that guy

Make sure hes not talking trash about the 300zx brakes either…casue iirc the calipers wont clear stock rims, which are on the car in the picture.

update: I checked out shift_nissan’s car (he’s from SON) it was a bit out over my budget but he had a nice relatively clean coupe on his hands so if anyone’s after that he just posted on SON.

So now i’m gonna check out Solarions car once he pms me back. His threads on SON and if anyone has seen or had any experience with this car, your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
