Though you kinda gotta give it to the GAO investigators… google for more stories, but there are articles about them smuggling in “dirty bombs” simultaneously from Mexico & Canada, as well as smuggling past the TSA, etc. Refer to my point a few posts above.

With as much as I cross the border via the niagara river/lake erie without seeing anyone I’m pretty sure I could smuggle a whole nuclear warhead in from Canada. That’s not exactly a well regulated crossing.
Hell, up on the NY/Quebec border where I grew up there were 2 track car paths that crossed from the US into Quebec with the nearest official border crossing being 10-15 miles away. A buddy and I had quads and we’d criss cross over that border all day long riding the trails in the woods with no one bothering us. And don’t think it changed post 9/11 because I still have friends back home who still ride the same trails.
And lets not even talk about the Mexico/US border. Unless the Minutemen happen to stumble across them no one is watching that door.
