Woman attempts to bring fake grenade into Family Court building

A woman was taken into custody around 1 p.m. today for attempting to bring a device made to look like a grenade into the Erie County Family Court Building in downtown Buffalo.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad determined that the device had no explosive potential.
The lookalike grenade, which apparently was in a sock inside a handbag, was detected by an X-ray machine.
The seven-story building was evacuated, along with the attached Robert D. Fernbach parking Ramp. The workers were allowed back into the building shortly before 3 p.m.
Hundreds of people gathered at nearby intersections, which were cordoned off by Buffalo police.
No charges have been filed.
Andrew B. Isenberg, district executive for the Eighth Judicial District, said the incident highlights the need for security at court buildings.
“We’re hopeful serious charges will be brought because of the serious disruption to family court,” Isenberg said. “This, I think, demonstrates why it’s so important to have security in our court buildings. People who come here are upset and frustrated and emotional. These cases have big impacts on their lives with custody, parental and visitation issues.”
Those going to the court building must pass through a security checkpoint that has a metal detector and their possessions go through an X-ray machine.

I don’t see how thats valid. If they didn’t check her and she brought it in, still no explosion since it wasn’t legit.
everytime I went to court or through a metal detector, when it went off I would tell them how I have a plate, screws, and rod in my arm and they would just tell me to go ahead… with that said I can see how easy this is.
They’re upset and emotional because the Erie County court system is the most fucked up piece of shit system I have ever seen. Nobody working in the court system gives a flying fuck about the innocent people or children involved in any of the cases. Someday, I bet, someone will bring a real bomb or guns in.
Wait is it illegal to have something that looks like a grenade/gun?
I can see how it would be illegal to use something that was fake, saying it was real. But if the cops just freaked out I don’t think that is her fault. What if I think it is cool to have a bullet belt, will they arrest me for that too?
Ok, it turned out to be a shift knob and the guy watching the x-ray machine just thought it was a grenade. lol, and then the news says it was a “fake grenade.” Anything for a story right?
definately not the most rediculous “MOD” i’ve seen done to a car. lol, obviously. i hate the people who drive their cars fast b/c they have sick, dark tinted windows which add atleast 38 HP. for most vehicles
Well, it is probably the fact that people who like to drive their cars fast buy standard vehicles and like their windows tinted, not the other way around.
But, do you not have a problem with people who have fast cars and drive them fast?
