boost-hungry's 7mgte coupe build

the car came to me with mismatched 17 inch rims(currently for sale) wheel spacers and extended studs. kyb gr2’s . and in some need of some serious TLC ! (mostly body work). I have some plans for this car to do . exterior : 50mm rear over fenders , front 30mm wide fenders, carbon fiber hood, front bumper (not to sure what 1), silvia rear valances , carbon fiber sun roof delete, and a fresh coat of black paint. stoppers & wheels: break up grade to 300zx or skyline, slotted rotors and project u pads, diamond racing rims 16x10 on rears & 16x9 fronts (have yet to figure out offsets i want to run) suspension : coilovers (right now for time being im running godspeed), bings full multi link

pics to go up soon this is a good start for me 7mgte turbo runs well , has welded diff.

Interesting… any reason you chose a 7m? Did you have it already?

7mgte was already installed but wirings a mess for everything . so im re-wiring the whole car over the next week before car gose for paint.also new parts to the list are a stage 2 clutch , tc rods and up grade the c26 turbo and stock intercooler .

I would take the 7M out… Unless you like changing head gaskets once or twice a year…

that’s the problem only with OEM or simular type head gaskets…if it’s aftermarket metal or equivalent it’s more closer to bulletproof

pictures

i have pics but photobuckets not working for me . and motor was rebuilt with metal head gasket.

hope this link works http://s104.photobucket.com/albums/m...andonsskyline/

Seeing that picture reminds me how must a absolutly hate working on those motors. Uhg.

Looks like you got your work set out for you, interesting project though.

Was this car at Shanny at the beginning of Sept?
If it’s the same one I remember seeing more off the track than on.

Definitely needs a good cleaning.

As Tremels said. Looks like you have your work set out for you.

Coreys old car?
The cage and trunk looks familiar.

yes its coreys old car and new driver so ill try to keep it on the track

im having problems with finding a good clutch i was told to buy exedy or act im looking to go stage 2 or possibly 3 if the price is right also starting to gain some interest in getting 5 lug in case diamond racing wheels aren’t doing what i want for looks. i could use some good information id google it but then id just find some random wrong facts and then be kicking my self in the ass in the long run. and about 5 lug whats the credibility of these has anyone used them?

Very, very, interesting

so im having problems holding a charge over night i think the car has a few things running even when every things off where should i start looking?

Even tho a 7M is not my motor of choice, I would have to kindly disagree with you on your opinion/comment.

Depending on what you do with the car will dictate what is going to happen to the motor besides all the up keep needed.

If its just a daily driver a OEM headgasket is okay to use, but this is SON and it is a build for something more than just a DD.

I would say with 100% confidence if he puts a metal headgasket he is golden.

I did a complete head job on a 7M so its brand new again and to this day there is NO issues!
