My dad’s boss has a 60" Hitachi, he thinks its an Ultravision… he broke the mirror, I can get the TV for free…
is it worth me even pulling it out of his house? How easy can the mirror be replaced?
Thanks,
Jack

not sure honestly, but if you get no answer, and decide not to take it, i wouldn’t mind taking it off of your hands and fiddling around to see if i can make it work. We need something smaller than our 120" lol
problem - the guy is $$$$$ loaded $$$$$$ and paranoid… no one else is allowed in the house, so I get it this weekend or not at all. So hopefully I can find someone he knows to help me move it, otherwise its staying in his livingroom.
Tell him that I am from $$$$$ too, and i dont need any of his lol. Then i can help you move it with my truck!
i would take it and at least ebay it or something
I have a truck, so I guess when I get it home I can check it out.
I guess I just have to buy a special mirror from a glass shop… and it might work. worth a try i guess.
i work tomorrow and we sell/repair those thigns so ill see what i can find out for ya
sweet man thanks.
LCD projection tv or is it a regular old school CRT projo?
if its a CRT projo there are no “mirrors”
same deal with an LCD projo
if its a hitachi CRT projo its either a 51, 57, or 65 they didnt make a 60
if its a LCD projo it could be a 60, but there is no mirror… maybe he blew the bulb? if so expect like 250 bux to fix it
TAKE IT
I’m just working on the info my dad gave me. He said he saw the broken mirrior… it might be 65" or 57"
On google groups there were guys talking about 60" Hitachi TVs with broken mirrors as well… its like 6-7 years old I think.
if you dont take it, i will
if you do, just take it to advantage and see what they would charge you to fix it…
64 dollars later, I have the sweetest TV I have ever seen
Not really the sweetest, but the picture is phenominal…
my advice r0x0rs
i just measured, ordered mirror, put back together, turned it on… and wholla
i have some scratches in the screen itself, but i’m not sure if i want to buy a new one, or just sit further from the TV.
GT4 was the first thing I ran on it… :tup:L
nice, i love my 65 inch
I’m going to have to check it out. Looks sweet!
Haha, kickass.
