This ram is great,I’ve been using it for a few months and its been rock solid.Ram is cheap,no reason to pay for expensive stuff unless you’re overclocking.
You’ll probably need a decent video card,especially with a 24" monitor and running anything but its native will look shitty.8800GTS at minimum.$3xx range.Not to mention vista and DX10 gaming.
Your build looks pretty kickass,mine is similar…E6600 w/2gb/7900GT and it runs vista ultimate with no problems.
