bye bye tire and rim

so i am going to work for a meeting this morning and i hit a big ass pot hole on the Robert moses expressway and it blew out my tire and destroyed my rim… i have the stock 05 GTP rims. is it cheaper to buy a set of 4 new rims or just go buy a steelie from a junk yard and a tire for the time being

u will probably find the oem rim in a junkyard. the robert moses is getting worst by the day

yes it is… and i already printed out my claim form. so i hope i get my money back. and i am thinking of just for this year buying a set of 4 identical steelies and sanding nad painting them black and then save up for a rim set

Are you really asking if it’s cheaper to buy 4 wheels or 1?

Just kidding, sorry to hear. I would be going after the city for this one…

its not the city its the state that takes care of the robert moses. as soon as i fix it i am putting in my claim to them i already got the forms

they will laugh at you and you wont see shit but good luck

The only place I have found that carries newer GM OEM rims is…

Vince’s Auto Wrecking
8440 Akron Rd.
Lockport, NY
(716) 434-6238

Good luck. I think I paid 2-something for a 5 spoke 16" for my GA when I cracked it on a Pot-hole. They did mount and balance, for free, my new tire I brought with me.

You can also try…

Howbill - 652-1651 (They will most likely have to order)
Skyway - 824-4348
2060 - 894-2060
Mark’s - 896-1616

I have seen 97 style GPs at M&M (896-1775) if one of those steelies would fit…

That’s usually the only places that would have an OEM replacement or a Steelie junkyard wise.

200 something? the ordered you a rim from the dealer and marked it up a lot

No. It was off another GA they had in their yard. They told me they had one. They told me they would hold it. When I got there they said “Make sure it is the right one. They we will pull it.” I thought WTF because they said they had one but I have to make sure. But hey, it was either them or the Dealer.

Also, $200 is cheap for that wheel. I just called Jim Ball (667-2000) and it is $602 for one of those same wheels I pulled for the Grand Am today. I think they wanted $585 when I needed it. The Grand Prix wheel will be around that same price most likely.

GM wheels SUCK.
