I hear ya, untoned piece of flab sucks lol. Ive seen guys with 20" bi’s and was like…eh…looks like shit. I started at 14 somethin and worked my way up to 15.5 and pretty tone. I wanna be a ripped 17" and ill be happy…for awhile.

You have a great starting point. Gaining an inch a year is HUGE. I’ve gained like 5/8s in the last 9 months, but I took 2 months off over the summer and was never REALLY serious about it till recently.

I can do 65’s on incline db, but I can’t get them up the first rep w/o help so I said eff that. Too much chance of injury.

roughly 179 right now. I was 179 2 months ago with a 38 inch waist. with Alans help, weigh the same now with 2 inches less around the belly (same weight, more muscle!). I want to get down into the 34 inch range before I do a dedicated bulking plan. You?

I HATE incline bench…what are you guys doing for close grip bench??

I’m doing it now as part of my tri routine, not sure what weight I use off of my head…i’ve been doing it on smith machines, they don’t always equate to a free barbell. I’d do it with a barbell, but i do every set to failure and I dont want to crush myself.

Nice, currently im 225, and a 36 waist(by pant size) and i wanna do essentially the same as you, slim down first, and then bulk back up. Eventually i would like to be all around ripped and 210 or so

I’m sure your waist is bigger then 36. I can wear a 32 inch pant with my waist as it is now (36). I measure mine daily, ha. It’s all about tracking your gains and losses.

just have a spotter help ya. Barbell is sooo much better than the machines IMO. I noticed a hell of a difference. Its funny i can damn near close grip what i can normally bench now. Tri’s are my thang!! :banana

NO spotters available when I workout man. I don’t mind using the smith machine for a couple things. I’d never use it to squat though. I love doing squats…so much focus required.

My weak things are my tris, bis and chest but I’m getting there for sure. I think my arms look decent now, albiet smaller then I eventually want them to be.

Get used to it-Alan will have you emailing him your waist/weight everyday. Do it first thing in the AM to keep it the most consistant.
