Cable VS. Sattelite

Ok, so I am trying to decide which way to go. Sat or Cable. I am in Butler so I would have to go with Armstrong. Any warnings or recommendations? Does dish really go out with bad weather that often.

For just TV or internet too?
As far as going out mine only did sometimes during pretty bad storms.
Can’t go any further without knowing which you’re getting, or both…

It would just be for TV.

I don’t know about armstrong cable, but I have been using Dish Network for about 2 years now and its great. The customer service (like getting it installed) was pretty poor, but overall the service itself is good and it is a great price. We had been paying about 55 bucks a month for 250 channels w/ a DVR recorder on two tvs. Then we upgraded to HD w/ DVR and 250 + Channels and have been paying 65 or 70 per month.

We haven’t had any issues with reception or anything like that. It is always clear.

dish isn’t bad…i have directv and the ONLY time it went out was during a really bad storm…and even at that time it was 2 of the news channels…all the others worked fine

Yeah for just TV I would go with Satellite if that’s what’s available or cheaper for what you want.

on a second note i saw that Jon had mentioned something about sat internet…it sucks…is slow…and ridiculously expensive

I’ve had armstrong for about 2 years now. I’ve never had any problem with them that their service wasn’t incredibly fast and responsive in fixing. I have them for cable, phone, and internet now and I’m quite pleased.

Haha yeah that’s why I asked which, I had satellite internet for a small amount of time and it was terrible…

ya they want like 100+ a month for like dual isdn speed lol

i been using dish for 5 years now and i wouldnt want anything else. i love the dual tuning dvr

we had both up at the camp in pymatuning. dish would go out so damn much it wasn’t funny, it might have needed reajusted or something but every time a bird chirped it’d go out. we have armstrong cable up there now, it’s definitely more reliable but it doesn’t have as many channels as dish did.
