There are actually a lot of fast ones out there, it’s just most people go with a power adder or swap in a 4.6 dohc. Now that the TFS are out I’m sure there will be many more. Ryan was still using worked stock heads I believe.
Ryan banging the gears to a 9 second run
I ran 13.6 @ 106 on a bad motor with 7 cylinders that was bone stock…3460lbs…
No idea. I guess its just junk.
The smoking clutch didnt help but either way the mph isnt there.
It takes a lot of seat time to learn to drive a stick car well on a quarter mile. I went to LVD quite a few time before I could even start to get good launches and cut decent times.
Well Im sick of blowing clutches and breaking stuff so Im done with 1/4 mile shit with this car
LOL don’t be such a sissy… your clutch was obviously either faulty or severely out of adjustment. Don’t throw in the towel over a single failure…
Ive blown two clutches at LVD and dont want to waste time or money with a third.
Id rather sell the car or make it handle instead of drag racing.
Do you really think that people have to replace their clutch every pass? No, most people get several years out of their clutches…
Ive put 4 clutches in the car within 3k miles.
Twice as a direct result of LVD, once as a result of towing in gear.
I know how to drive a stick. My last car had 71k on the original clutch when I traded it in on my truck and Ive owned two stick trucks. I only had to put a clutch in one of the trucks because I was loading it up like a 1 ton and it was just an S10.
most of your clutch problems was due to improper adj man . i told ya that on your last one dude
I really wish this POS had a hydraulic clutch. There is a new kit to convert it but its expensive as hell.
I had thought of doing it with S10 parts but theres no way to bolt the slave cylinder to the bellhousing like on the S10 I had with the same tranny.
There are plenty of people that can drive a manual but not DRIVE a manual, know what Im sayin?? My mother could drive a manual, but she aint gonna be breaking the 25 second barrier at LVD :lol
I had a 99 Formula LS1 M6 and it smoked clutch with every second gear power shift on bald 245s. Tho they are hydraulic and not adjustable I did find a small issue.
I discovered the cruise control was not working one night on the thruway. It turns out the switch that turns off the cruise control when the clutch pedal is pushed was dangling at my feet. The plastic clip that held it in had broken.
When I put the switch back in with the broken clip to get an idea where it came from it was obvious that the adjustment on the switch was maxed out leaving the clutch pedal pushed in half an inch all the time. Now that I had a little free play in my clutch pedal the stock 85k clutch would hook fine and break lose 275s.
Your clutch is adjustable. Check the adjustment! Make sure you have at least a little free travel.
i did the clutch joe , it is right . i tested it good . jellies and brett can attesst to it . jellies car is fast it has a lot in it that car is a 11 sec car with the right driver
we just gotta figure out the starting issue and reverse light issue and find it a new owner.
I blew my SPEC Stage 1 in my old GT but on the street, I also powershifted it on the street like I did at the track LOL. It only would take that for so long. SPEC Stage 2 held better than I blew the T-5, but I got a lot of track passes and street passes out of it so I cant complain. Sounds like a bad clutch cable to me, possibly binding. I only use OEM Ford cables the rest are junk basically. I don’t even know how many passes I’ve made at the track, in the 1000’s I’d guess. I used to race 2 times a week, sometimes 3 plus drove for other people.
whoever did his clutch didnt do so well with it . cable was so tight ya couldnt even play the guitar on it lol
mine too Im a chevy ford and honda guy and my mind is having a fist fight
I’ll buy it
youre lying
