My '99 Cherokee used to be a company vehicle for The Culligan Man. They had a big Culligan Man vinyl on the rear window, and over time, the rear wiper and whatever was on the window and on the wiper scratched the rear window with really small scratches. When the vinyl was removed, you can now see the logo and lettering still because that area has no scratches at all.
I tried 000 steel wool on the window, but it doesn’t do anything. Is there anything I can do to polish up the rear window, or do whatever needs to be done to get that ghosting of the old vinyl off the window?
how small are they?
Like fine hair scratches?
I have the same thing in my front window and it drives me nuts.
But as for fixing/removing them i have never encountered anything to take them out/polish them out.
Glass is super hard… unless its something to clean and fill the scratches perfectly… or a really fine sand paper. I just seeing it getting much worse though. what about wet sanding the window. Hopefully they used quartz or another hard compound in the sandpaper

good luck,on that neon.its near impossible to get glass perfectly buffed.
oe-tec makes a poly resin and a 2 step hardener i use to fix small stone chips.it works great and you cant see the crack if it is done correct.thats for stone chips tho.and it takes about a year to master it.you have to suck the air out and put the resin in. then heat the glass to release the hardener…and on and on.get new glass.it will save you a huge fucking headache.
A compound called cerium oxide is used to polish glass, or more commonly, jewelers stones. Glass polishing kits will also come with a very very dense polishing wheel.
