Car accident. Think it will get totalled?

My girlfriend had an accident on NF Blvd at Creekside. Other driver’s fault, ticket was issued.

I only have the one picture at the moment, I took a video at the accident scene that I can post later. She’s ok, the car did what it was supposed to and she doesn’t have a scratch on her. Airbag did deploy.

Her car: 2010 Focus SE, 55xx miles. Windshield got crunched by the hood. Enough damage that the passenger side fender also is tweaked, all front supports are pretty well smashed.

That’ll buff right out.

New car replacement or something like that?

i bet she’ll get a new car

I money is on totaled. That’s a bunch of damage just looking at one exterior pic and I’m sure once they get it on a lift and start looking deeper the unibody is probably tweaked too.

Yeah Im bettin totaled, My sister was just in an accident about 4 months ago and the damage wasnt as bad as that but it was a new sentra. Glad to hear shes ok.

totaled I hope you have the new car replacement in your policiy, if not, you’ll get full depreciated nada value on the car.

thell prob give her a check and call the car totaled

there isnt that much wrong with it.

it will not get totaled

my car had a looottt less damage than that and got totaled.
but totally different car and older.
so meh.

hope they don’t give you shit or it, lol.
IE, less than what she owes.

good luck

edit; they are only 15k on ebay with low low miles. its iffy. I have fixed worse, granted it was a 3 series or benz though

Go over to where ever the car is and beat the crap out of the other panels too. Looks close…

Isnt there a 75% rule of cars value?

Its done, that’s a lot more damage than you see on the surface. It doesn’t take a lot to total these unit-body cars these days. They are designed to cumble, and in doing so the struture is easily fuct (hey spelling assholes, I know the corect spelling of fuct is FUCKED). I’d bet you $100 its totaled.

its obvious you have nothing to do with the autobody industry. sure you can spell fucked but any idiot knows its uni-body, not unit body.

there is a very good chance it is not totaled. changing a bumper support, core support, and 6-8 hours on the frame machine wont total it out. (yes I know there are more parts, of course) the parts for that are probably cheap as hell…

did someone invite a fireman stripper to compliment the real firemen? (see jacket on sidewalk)

I’d say its totaled from that one picture. I see a ton of cars just like that one at the insurance salvage auctions, most of them aren’t even as bad as that.

I would fight them to get it totaled, it won’t be the same car if you let them fix it.

Holy Geez!
I totaled my car and it had less damage than that. Damn trucks!
Glad shes okay.

Apparently you are a collision appraiser, or just the typical douche-bag that likes to attack people for their grammatical errors? Judging for the fact that you missed more than half of the MAJOR parts required to fix this car, I’m going with the latter. Why don’t we comprise a list of parts to be replaced (or extensively repaired) Mr. Appraiser, shal we?

  • Hood
  • bumper cover
  • bumper support
  • radiator
  • upper radiator support
  • lower radiator support
  • AC condensing unit
  • L headlight
  • headlight and grill support
  • grill
  • L front fender
  • L front upper frame rail
  • L fog light assembly
  • Driver side airbag assembly
  • Windshield

Other parts with minor damage that will require minor repairs at minimum:

  • Driver side door
  • Passenger side door
  • Passenger side fender
  • left front suspension components (strut, control arms, sway bar, etc)

Since you’re the expert i’ll allow you to calculate up the labor involved in reparing those. Not to mention your 6-8 hrs ont he frame machine to straighten the front subrame supports (lower front frame rails, I apologize if my technical terms aren’t exactly correct) which undoubtly are bent assuming hte subframe itself is not and can be reused with out repair or replacement. What’s labor going for these days anyway? $95-$115 / hr… ish?

Oh yeah, and paint, that shouldn’t take much time at all. Atleast not to do a half assed job. That sanding shit is over rated anyway.

Feel free to find some gramatical errors and point them out in your next quote of this post. That seems to be the cool thing to do on here when somone posts something that irratates someone but they have nothing to refute the context of the post with.

For the record Mr. Collision shop owner, the correct technical term is unit-body. Also refered to monocoque construstion. The slang, or shortened term that has gained popularity, because lazy fucks like you don’t have the inteligence to speak in technical terms has become unibody.
