If you had the option of:
IS 250 AWD vs AUDI 2.0T AWD? Which would you purchase and why?
IS 250 has only 1 downfall the awd system is like 90 rear and 10 front and is based on slippage similar to wrx system…not fun in snow/rain, but lots of fun otherwise
the audi is the quattro that is tq based and is closer to 60 front and 40 rear from my understanding…
looks go slight edge to the audi, interior to the audi for sure, warranties are similar…both are really nice cars…just dunno…OPINIONS???
What are the prices for each?

IS 250. I’ve driven both and I felt the Lexus was a better car all around, things like ride, handling and looks. The only thing that would pull me to the Audi would be the larger interior and the more advanced AWD.

according to the specs, the front is a little smaller in the audi, but it also has a bigger back seat. other than that, the cars seem to be pretty simliar in spec. the audi will be cheaper on tires because of the size, but that isn’t a huge issue.
supposedly the quattro system on audi’s is pretty much the high point of all awd systems.
i say drive both cars, which ever car you like more, buy that one. that probably doesn’t help, but theres my $.02.
The Quattro is a smart system, and on highways, is almost reduced to FWD mode to get better gas mileage.

I think I would have to lean towards the lex. I think the looks are a little higher class and I believe that it will be cheaper to fix and more reliable than the audi (someone correct me if I am wrong) since it is a toyota at heart. Overall, I don’t really think that you can go wrong with either car, but I would prefer the 250.
Lexus for sure. I think the 10/90 split would be fun.

awww man…the 2 worst cars ever built! My buddy just sold his E320. The car had SOOOO many problems it was unbelievable. I will admit thought that the higher end Benz’s are absolutely gorgeous as well as some of the higher end Audi’s. If your price range is < $40K your asking for trouble.
Some people must just REALLY like working on cars…lol Myself? - I enjoy driving them.
the is250 is a dog… definitely the nicer car, but lacks in the power department. I would probably go is350 and get a good set of winter tires.
