Car insurance question

If the car is in storage with only comprehensive coverage, you get to keep the licence plates…right?

or you have to had liability coverage also, otherwise you have to turn in the plates?..this is for the State of New York

is this true or the girl I just talk to In Geico is fool of shit

they didnt told me this the last time I talked to them

You need liability on any car that is registered

if it is registered it can technically be “driven”

that’s poo

State Farm has a “withdraw from use” option that drops collision and such, and I only pay like 25% of whats left. It lets me keep my plates, I just can’t drive the car until I reinstate full coverage, maybe you can ask if they have a similar thing…

yeah, when i tried that and my insurance company told i get to keep the plates i got a letter in the mail saying i had ten days to surrender my plates. fucking retards

also, if you do not surrender the plates before the due date, you’ll have to fork over @ $8.

a day. :ohnoes:

thanks guys

You all will be seeing a Bimmer with ELEVENS licence plates :snky:

When I had AMICA insurance they told me not to turn in my plates.
I don’t think it is legal but on the other hand there is no way to get caught itf the car is not being driven.

I think the insurance company has to notify the DMV if you “cancel” a policy but if you only “change” your coverage they are not required to tell DMV.

My 91 Cougar sports JUICEDLX I just won’t let them go. lol
