after going to the last track event, my car seems to make a whinning noise whenever i press the gas. the sound sounds like a supercharger, literally. it happens whenever i accelerate in gear, OR out of gear. if i’m just parked and i rev it up i still hear the sound. it is VERY noticable and very consistent and smooth.
no change in performance really, just the added sound.
i am assuming its engine related since even when im standing still i am able to hear it.
is it a whining from the engine bay or posably through your speakers even with the sterio off?
you could have nocked your grounds around a bit at the track.
no the whinning is coming from underneath the car it seems.
i thought it was an exhaust leak but there is no loss in power and does NOT bog.
i will check the engine bay tho, i only stuck my head out the door to hear it.
and the whinning does happen when the stero is off or on, no difference.
what type of grounds would you be referring to? its a pretty consistent whine, exactly like a superhcarger, if not louder and more noticable. i kinda like the sound tho lol.
i know my vavle springs are loose tho…maybe something in the engine is going and is resonating thru the exhaust system? hrmmmm

or the piece that the throw out slides on I had that broken once with about the same resalt just from stuff bouncing around.
its probably your alternator…my car does the same thing cuz the alternator is ready to burn out…does your battery light get brighter as you slow down or stop at a light?
guarentee its your trans. either tob or pilot bushing.
mine makes the same noise, next time when your parked…put your foot on the clutch pedal, and lisen. rev and lisen…i can bet it wont make that noise. welcome to nissan transmissions
water pump is really easy to install. well at least on dohc ka’s and redtops in s13 chassis, im sure it wont be to hard for you, just watch your engine temp!!!
but try wtih foot on and foot off the clutch and see what happins
Hey samson, when my TOB finally went, I couldn’t get into gear properly and the car kept stalling too and stuff, it was weird.
Anyways, when we changed the clutch on my car, this is what had happened due to a SEIZED TOB and broken Pivot.
By the way, I’m not saying that the same thing will happen to you, but maybe mine was just really fucked. The fingers were bent and breaking off as soon as i touched them. The tob was seized onto that thing that you install on. It was so bad that I had to get a new one.
