Car running too cold

Has anyone experienced their SR running below normal engine temps in the cold weather?

Ive got a Koyo rad and an HKS FMIC infront of it and anything past 80km the car will not hold proper engine temp, 180-190 F. my temp is at 140 F on my autometer. Just wanting to see if anyone has had this prob and if there are any ill effects.

I may have to rock the cardboard infront of the rad like the 80’s econline vans!

maybe your thermostat is stuck open
are you running one?

Yes,

I have checked everything out and its all in working order. The car only drops in temp when it gets cold outside, other than that it runs perfect.

when you go on the highway for like 10 mins does ure temp gauge on ure stock cluster go all the way to cold? if it does, the thermostats stuck open for sure…140 isnt even to cold bad to be honest…as long as ure stock gauge is about half way, dont worry about the 140.

Drive harder?

:stuck_out_tongue:

HA…the harder I drive the cooler it gets.

I know 140 isnt bad, from what Ive been told the only thing I may notice is an increase in gas consumption. Truth be told Im not worried about this at all.

The stock gauge doesnt move though, but its so unaccurate I dont even rely on it anymore. Once the stock gauge needle hits the center of the gauge, my autometer can read anywhere from 100-190F and the needle wont move. I know its not meant to be accurate but that is why I got the autometer in the first place. We’ll see what happens as the weather gets even cooler.
