Proper Coolant Temperature for Sr?

Just wondering what everyones Aftermarket water temp guages are reading on there Sr’s so I can keep an eye on it.

Whats normal, dangerous, highway, idle…and whatnot.

Im reading 168 Ferenheit (sp?) degrees after a the first 15 minute drive I took which I believe should be ok.

Thanks again.

Is your gauge mechanical or electric? Where is your gauge probe located?

Mine is right on the upper rad hose and I read 190F on average
in regular city driving (on most hot days). On highway however I will
be anywhere from 180F to 185F.

I have a KA and I have dual-electric fan (which I took out today cuz the
switch busted), but I figure your SR would be close.

168F sounds awfully cool. I know the manual for the KA says 180F.
I figure the SR is similar? :dunno:

Make sure you bled your coolent goodo and such, SR’s like the run hot

You’re not helping. :squint:

You might have an aftermarket thermostat in there thats running it a bit cool. my suggestion would be buy a new thermostat, drive around for about a month it shouldn’t be a problem if it overheats just keep some tools in the car take out the thermostat put the shit back together fill with water and then fix it proporly at the first place you can. I’m sure its fine though…
