Anyone know any cards games other than poker to play that would involve winning some money, to be played amongst friends? We already play 2 games and they are getting fucking boring.

There is like 10000000 variants of poker. Omaha, Holdem, Blind mans bluff, Razz, Stud, etc.
And if you want to win money, you can bet on anything. Hell, me and my friend sat on my porch and were betting on what color hair the girl had who we heard swear down my street.
dollar high card is the shit. it’s the game that’s always going at the loser’s table during poker nights.
skat was my jam in hs. i once saw a ps2 (brand new at the time) vs. $300 cash. the kid lost his ps2, his dad went to the kids house that won it the next day and got it back lol
i just tried to google it and im getting some kind of weird german version of it…
alright- play with 2-8 people. deal 3 cards to each,the rest of deck goes face down, but flip the top card of the stack. person to the left of the dealer goes first, and can choose the flipped card or the top card on the stack. take one, discard one, next persons turn. same deal, player can choose the shown card that the previous player discarded, or a new one from the deack. go clockwise obv.
the point of the game is to try to have 31. it must be suited, so an ace and 2 face cards would be skat (31) if you have skat, you throw your hand down, everyone playing folds 1 corner of $1 bill (or if you want to play with 5’s or 10’s, whatever) each player gets 4 folds before he is out.
also, if you have say… an 8 and 2 face cards (suited, it must be suited) thats 28. if you feel like you can beat at least 1 person, you knock on your turn. after you knock, every player gets 1 pull from the deck. once it comes back to the knocker, everyone shows their hands and the lowest hand folds. if everyone’s hand beats the person who knocked, the person who knocked folds 2x
also, a player can acquire 30 and a half- 3 of a kind = 30 and a half. you have to knock if you think your hand will beat everyone, the only time you dont knock is when you puck up skat (1 ace, 2 face cards (k-10)) MUST BE SUITED

That game has been in my family for years. It’s a blast playing with my older relatives over a few drinks.

we play a different couple games one is called “in between er” where everyone puts, lets say .25 in the pot, then everyone receives 2 cards and you have to bet an amount even or less to whats in the pot, you can choose to either fold or keep it. if you keep it then you have to bet = or less of amount, if the card dealt to you is in between the cards you have in hand then you win whatever you bet, if it’s not then you owe whatever you bet. It get boring.
Another is with 3 cups and cards, no jokers, no 8-10, kings,queens,jacks and aces are ok, each cup is labeled with “highest spade”, “highest pairs”, and “22 or 31”…everyone gets 3 cards, you check to see if you have spades, pairs or 22. if no one has that then the money stays, if you get either of those or all of them then you take the money and the game is over. lets say someone wins the pairs and the spade, and no one has 22, then you add up the value of your cards until someone gets closest to 31 without going over. if you go over you’re out. aces are worth 1, 10 or 11. It;s an easy and good game, just gets way to repetitive after awhile.

I’ve seen pots grow into the thousands and people post. We also play if you get of two the same cards you can call high/low but if you get the same card you have to pay 3 times the pot!!
