Care to pay someone to catch a siesta?

I love how my dollars fund someone’s midday nap…

  1. This is the NYC corrections department and not NYSDOC.

  2. She is a super minority being an African American female so nothing will happen to her. Oh wait, the union already opened a door for an excuse so she can be kept in the department:

I dont know what NYSDOC is… but regardless, sleeping on the job for any job is complete inexcusable bullshi*t

New York State Department of Corrections = Your tax $$

NYC corrections = Not your tax $$

This happens more than you would care to know unfortunately.

wow the person who took the pic is getting in trouble too. doesn’t that just suck!

lol, more trouble than the person sleeping it seems!
Because the person sleeping may have been ill or whatever the fuck it said.
lol.

so she has a chance of getting off it.
lol.
lol.
lol.

Moral of the story?

If you have a union job you can get away with anything except pointing out the laziness of a fellow union employee.

As a union steward for the CSEA local 425 I hear alot of bitching from private sector peeps about unions…

You know most of these glorious unionized state and federal jobs are civil service positions, feel free to hop on the gravy train.

Truth be told most of you guys couldnt hack a state job.

because most sane people can’t handle the unionized uneducated troglodytes found in most management positions at most state agencies.

The guy snapping the photo is probably a white male. Easily replaceable.

I wont disagree with that statement, except the unionized part, the union is for helping people maintain their sanity due to the uneducated troglodytes in management

I’ll give you that. But by the same token it’s the union that keeps these shitheads in management.

And it’s the union that guarantees them the same raise as the person putting out 2000% more work…

Usually managers aren’t union!

it depends on what level management they are but yeah some of the worst offenders arent unionized

True. I’m PEF and I’ve seen some wild shit. Like things that I’m sure are felonies. God forbid the day the AG walks into my office (not my particular office, my hands are spueaky clean)

for the record Im not defending the actions of the employee pending complete disclosure of the facts of the case.

everyones probably thinking “what good excuse could there be for sleeping??!”

in my job its common to get mandated to work an extra 8 hour shift often at the last minute and its not unheard of during staffing shortages or weather related emergencies to get stuck working several days in a row continiously…

How cool would it be for you 9-5 private sector peeps to have your boss walk in at 4:30p on a Friday and hear “ummm so and so called in so you have to work their shift for them” and then Sat morning hear “ummm yeah we’re going to need you to stay until 5pm today”

so yeah its not the same world most of you guys work in

theres always bad employees and theres always good employees who get caught up in the BS the bad employees create

the point I was making in my previous post is the private sector and the public sector are night and day, its not as cut and dry in the public sector and lots of craziness does go down (employee and managerial) so its important to have unions to fact find and protect the interests of their employees and believe it or not the bad employees despite being given extra chances eventually do find themselves out of work

lol the difference is with alot of public jobs is that its mandation, you can have charges filed against you if you opt to leave
