i’m not sticking up for her, nor am i saying she isn’t a scumbag, all i’m saying is the prosecution had an awful case and couldn’t prove she murdered her daughter but the media can go out and say she did without having proof. being a scumbag doesn’t make you guilty of murder. and the media manipulates cases all the time and only provides you with the facts that they are going to sell the most copies and get the most visits.

I know man, no offense your way from my words, i am just saying what i feel.

One more reason why i will never buy a news paper and dont watch the news (only stuff I know about this is from water cooler talk at work and home) because its all a bunch of one sided shit like you said.

No being a scumbag doesnt make you guilty, from a law standpoint. But guilty of being a hindrance to society, it sure does. You didnt drown in the pool when you were little, because your parents werent dumb trash. Accidents happen, fuck yeah they do, and god help me I hope I dont have an accident that could get misconstrued to the point of jail time. But i will act like I am in front of my grandmother with just about everything I do, to lessen those chances.

The media is way too quick to burn people at the stake, perfect examples are the Duke Lacrosse case and the more recent IMF Chief Rape case. The media presumes guilt before innocence because people love the gossip, they eat it up and spread it around because they cannot or will not think for themselves.

The Anthony Case was doomed from the outset. Way too much media attention and way too much pressure on the Prosecution to bring home a guilty verdict. The defense team threw everything but the kitchen sink into the case and it worked while the prosecution simply did not have enough evidence to warrant a murder 1 guilty charge.

Do I think it’s fucked up? Yes of course but this is the system we’ve adopted and a jury of her peers acted on the evidence they were presented with.

exactly what Eliot and I are saying… and until people get fed up with the bullshit spewed out every minute of our lives, through print, tv, radio, and the internet… they will never stop. Which is a shame.

I just dont see how with all the technology, and (giving the benefit of the doubt here) a smidgen of common sense these things dont have to drawn out for weeks, months or years before a decision cant come up.
