While DMCC staff spend countless hours on the beaches of Cuba waiting for the snow to melt, sipping on their pina-coladas eagerly waiting to see the black tarmac poking through winter snow, their team of magical Leprecon drifting slaves are hard at work preparing for the 2008 Castrol DMCC drifting series.
Considering their supernatural powers, unlimited budget and superior mental states all should expect nothing less than a drift series that will make F1 look like an amateur training camp for the mentally challenged race car drivers.
For all those easily influenced or did not catch the sarcasm in the last statement here is what the lazy bastards at DMCC have planned for you while scratching our scrotums in hopes of quieting the immature rumor mills over the internet:
Inside the organization
• New 6 round competition drifting season, from Québec to Edmonton, organized and planned to be more exciting and more intense then any drifting event ever held before in Canada.
• A new team with the mandate to supervise and run all drift races, including Seth Patterson, DMCC 2008 chief sterward and ex rally organizer, as well as Kendrick Fong, one of Canada’s original drift event pioneers.
• Castrol DMCC: This year planned to be featured on RDS Motorisé
• Plans in the works for a 2009 National televised drifting show based on the Catsrol DMCC drifting series
• New promotional & advertisement plan for the 2008 Castrol DMCC series, including radio contests, rebate coupon flyers & special event promos, just to name a few.
• New and FREE official event guide at all DMCC events, presented by the ALL NEW QT, with driver profiles, event information, entertainment…
• Alex Pfeiffer and Andy Yen, official Formula D judges to judge Castrol DMCC. We know, it’s the judges fault again…

• DMCC’s Bazooka girls are back with more swag to shoot your way.
• DMCC offices expand to cover Toronto and Montreal
• The voices of DMCC 2008 will be the well known Steve Landry and fresh off the boat, Mark Ramsay. Both are said to be working with a new entertainment team for a fast paced and more exciting DMCC.
• New 2 day events: With the increased amount of drivers participating at the Castrol DMCC drifting championship this year, Drift Mania has arranged practice days and amateur drift competitions on the two day events during round 3, 4, 5 & 6.
• DMCC new PR team to be presented at the first DMCC press event of the year, just before Rd.1 at l’Autodrome Montmagny (Québec, Qc.)
• Kumho Tires and Brittanicar now supporting drifters with new Contingency programs.
• 3 Pro-Am drifting series now granting DMCC licenses across the Country – DriftNights in Quebec, DriftOps in Ontairo and D-Sport in Alberta.

Driver and Team News:
With more teams and drivers than ever competition will be very fierce this year. With everyone battling for the coveted Castrol Cup only the strong will survive. With drivers and teams competing from the USA, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, 2008 will be the hardest year to earn your right on the podium.
• BFG drift team with Tania Bourbonais and Ryan Lanteigne driving two new Pontiac GTO’s for 2008
• Khumo drift team going bigger then ever with Carl Nadeau, Kevin Grenier and Stefen Scardoccio
• General Tire Drift team featuring for a second year in a row the trio: Marco Santos, Haig Kanadjian and famous Radio MC Danny “Babu” Bernier
• Yokohama drift team coming back strong with J-F Chiasson and Ben Alden
• Fred Girard still leading Hankook drift team with rumors of a West coast based team mate
• Toyo Drift team Hideki Nishimura back in the game with his incredible R34 Skyline and a new partner rumored to be driving a 4 door Nissan Cefiro
• Falken USA drift team sending two (secret) U.S. drivers to DMCC Rd.1
• Samuel Hubinette is rumored to visit one of DMCC’s events… to show off… compete… No one really knows.
• Marc-André Duquette and Frederik Trudel now teamed together in a all 240SX drift team
• Ricci drift team is not only preparing the biggest team ever to enter the Castrol DMCC series, but is also one of the first to use a similar formula to the one used by Drift Alliance in the US. In short, Ricci drift team will be composed of 5 drivers (Robert Ricci, J-F Chiasson, Greig Basdeo, all in the pro divison, as well as Marie-Laurence Paquin & Pierre-Luc Chiasson, J-F’s little brother in amateur) all running under the Ricci drift team banner although partly individually sponsored.
• Patrick Cyr, the 2007 underdog of the year is coming back strong in 2008 with a new crew called Drift Posse. Piloting his turbo Corolla again this year Cyr is poised to see the podium more often in 2008.
• Andrew “ACP” Comrie-Picard, Canadian Rally Legend will be doing his drifting debuts, possibly teamed with Ontario based team S1DC
• Teknica Industries is rumored to be entering two new drivers to some of Castrol DMCC’s drifting events. Their weapon of choice is identical 2008 drift ready Ford Mustangs.
• Alex Lee, veteran Ontario driver still the only driver to compete in the Castrol DMCC drifting series with a high compression NA 240SX will be back for his 3rd year of competition
• Dominique Desroisiers, privateer this year and said to be working on a old school retro mod mustang that will make the earth shake to the sound of its V10.
• Vlad Crown, a new driver from Ontario that placed second at last year amateur competition at Castrol DMCC Rd.4 in Toronto is expected to become this year’s rookie of the year.
• Michel Durocher, back in business with his Nissan 240SX.
• And many more hard at work on their drift skills and eager to participate in the Castrol DMCC drifting Championship, like Chase Babineau, Curtis Lavigne, David Briggs, Chris St.John, and Justin Forsyth, to just name a few
