OK this not gor me it for a slut at work… we need to find a cell phone that can be used for 6 weeks while in London… I was told one can rent a phone … Or is there a way that you can get a “Pay-As-You-Go” type phone while over there??

She needs to get a quad-band unlocked GSM phone. Can be any AT&T or T-mobile phone that says QUAD BAND in the specs and is unlocked. Look on e-bay.
After that, she just buys a prepaid sim from a british carrier and pops it in there.

even if it’s a locked gsm phone you can call your company and they’ll offer you an upgrade for the month and cover you there.
