+1 on wire transfer. His bank may even have a local correspondent bank for international transfers. Ask him to check into it. Tell him where you want the money and let him ask his bank how they can make it happen.
I payed for the corvette in cash.
Bullets were in my right hand.
Wire transfer works well. Goodluck
paid*
I tried to get cash to pay for my FD. The bank looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked for $10k cash on a Saturday morning…
people steal usernames / identities all day long, wouldn’t you if you were trying to scam somebody?
he could steal someone’s identity and have the bank wire the money too
or he could bring me counterfeit cash
i am at SOME risk no matter what
Either way, I still haven’t heard back from him. I think the deal might be a no-go.
snap me know no english.
The bank teller was like “You want all this in cash.”
Me “Yup”
hahah
Make sure you can collect your funds, I see fake Official Checks all the time. You may even want him to Wire the money if possible. If taking the OC, get a copy of his ID.
There should be a number on the check you can call to verify funds.
haha most people think banks have tons of cash on end. At the branch I used to work at, they were lucky to have 50k on hand. Exspecially on a Saturday. Our branches don’t even open the vaults on those days.
Yeah, I think this was a branch that didn’t open the vault on weekends. Oh well. Certified checks are 100x less baller.
Bump for scam update
He never pulled through to buy it
Generally what happens once certified checks get taken off the table. Scammers aren’t interested in legit wire transfers.
Yeah, although we were going back and forth on the price negotiations for a while. So I am not really sure where I lost him.
Either way, I didn’t get scammed, so all is well in my book.
Still wish this damn thing would just sell though.
Wow after reading this it made me feel real lucky…Sold my 06 infiniti g35 coupe 2 years ago to some guy in Toronto…he drove down here to Buffalo and gave me a certified check which I accepted, thank god it cleared!
He did work for a car magazine (Modified, its called) and he was buying the car to trick out and put in the magazine, so it turned out very nice
If I was living in Buffalo I would not have been very suspicious. However, I live in North Carolina. So it is a bit suspicious that someone from that far away in Canada wants to travel into the SoutEast US to buy a car. It’s not really a rare car to find.
OT I was driving next to you on the 40 the other day in the jeep, tried to honk and wave but you didn’t hear me =/
haha, I was probably rockin out. My bad. I am surprised I missed the big yellow jeep next to me!
