CF Hood Question..

For those with cf hoods…

Did it come pre-drilled with the windshield washer nozzle holes?

If not did you drill into the hood to place them, or did you route them else where

and i guess people who drilled hood pins to…how did you go about drilling the hood.

On my Eclipse my VIS came pre-drilled for washer nozzles. I had to drill out for the hood pins.

Basically I don’t know what the drill bit is called specifically, it’s a small drill bit but it increases in increments, just go slow and it keeps gauging the hole bigger, somebody please chime in with the proper name.

^ a step bit?

for hood pins…

  1. install pin shaft in rad. support. and then put tape in the approximate location shaft will touch hood.
  2. put grease on top of pin shaft, close hood on pin shafts to mark where it contacts hood/tape.
  3. drill with tape/ on hood in the location the grease spot marked on the hood(make sure bit is perpendicular to hood)
  4. you now have your holes for the hood pins.

the seibon hood i received for my WRX did have holes for the washer nozzles, tho i had to modify the washer nozzle to fit the provided holes.

Thank you, I couldn’t think.

ViS>* although my washers do not go in the hood. I’m sure if they did ViS would have made them to fit.

I had to do minor modifications to the one on my car, but in most cases it’s usually predrilled.

This is the type of router bit you need for drilling composite. From Onsrud

that looks like a regular drill bit to me :gotme:

does taper bit=step bit?
