Well, it was a beautiful day outside, so I decided to take the Cobra out for a drive.
I was doing some hard driving, and for some odd reason my clutch was holding up just fine to it. So I hit the high way for some spirited driving, and what do I see in front of me.
But it appears to be a 2nd Gen Viper GTS (460hp model), toying around with a Lancer Evo. So I of course give myself an evil grin, and join the frey with these two. I keep watching the Viper pull away from the Evo, by a few lengths, so I wedge myself in the middle.
I hear a downshift from both of them, and me with my grin from ear to ear on my face, I just hold up three fingers to both of them, and they acknowledged.
So here we are, three wide on a certain high way, ready to go. I honk, three times, and away we go.
I started from 2nd gear, at 40 mph. All you could hear was my eaton supercharger, and exhaust from behind. Shift into third, and the Evo drifts back, while the Viper is at my rear bumper.
I’m heading into 3rd gear now, and my speedo is starting to reach around 85-90. The Evo begins to drift back, about 6-7 lengths, and the Viper is now about a full length behind. Snap into 4th gear, at about 105 mph, and the Viper is now about 2-2.5 lengths behind me. The Evo, I think just gave up at this point.
All three of us, get off at the same junction, and well… this time, I just go head to head against the Viper.
We start from a down low roll at 20-25mph, first gear. Three honk start, I definitely feel a lot of tire spin come from my car.
The viper lunges ahead of me, by about a half of a car. I snap into 2nd gear, short shifting out of first at about 5200rpm. Tire spin is still going on, but not as bad. Mid way through second, I catch the other snake, and begin to pull, and pull, and pull. Shift into third, and it’s lights out for the Viper. 90-100mph comes along, and he’s now about a full length or so behind me.
Slam it down into 4th, and take it to about 120 mph, and the Viper is still trailing to me, by about 2 or so lengths.
Talk about a day
