Drag Tag is a revolutionary ‘simulation’ system that allows drivers from all walks of life to experience real world high performance events whilst driving their own vehicle. You are in an exciting environment surrounded by all the sensations of real drag racing and driving in a range of situations, but without the concerns of crashing your or anyone else’s vehicle. We designed our patented systems intent on delivering serious fun, but not at a serious cost.
Designed, developed and Australian-owned, Drag Tag’s unique specially-designed hold-down system allows users to monitor their own and their car’s performance under a variety of conditions. Through the use of specially-designed brackets, a vehicle’s wheels are able to efficiently drive a dynamometer to establish a wide range of parameters including measuring speed and tractive effort.
Steering input is monitored using laser sensors directed at a front wheel, the results of which, when combined with speed, vehicle weight and weather conditions, ensure accurate performance analysis. With the performance monitored in real time, a vehicle’s drag statistics are fed back into the dynamometer’s retarders, and the position and attitude of the car is sent to the image generator computers. Coinciding visuals are displayed on three massive 4.5-metre screens positioned in front of and to the side of each vehicle for an amazing 200+ degrees of view to the driver. The system is carefully designed to ensure as close a result as is possible to real world drag racing.
In addition, Drag Tag big screen displays provide drivers and spectators alike with immediate, accurate performance statistics including race time, reaction time, maximum speed, maximum power and maximum tractive effort.
