chevy 305 upgrades?

Low cost, and you have a spare engine, I say spray the hell out of it.

Then again, I know NOTHING about V8s.

A lot of the GN guys install a TCC lock up switch & just lock it from the start (the tcc wont lock in 1st gear due to fluid path) & let her rip. I was told I’d gain .2 tenths & 2 mph in the 1/4. I tried this at Dunn tire raceway & when it hit 2nd, I got a ton of wheel spin.
That said, can you lock the tcc on your car ? I was told a strong engine will “push through” a high stall converter, get you out of your torque range & waste H.P. Thats what my car is doing so I tried the tcc lock trick. Not an option till I get different DRs though.
