That is actually a pretty good video.
The wing wouldn’t’ve helped because he braked, which slowed him down and would make the wing even less effective.

In all seriousness though, that is what happened to me on the Turnpike. Perfect example of off throttle oversteer.
The idiot sees that he is about to sideswip the other car and freaked. He turned and hit the breaks. He should’ve done one or the other, not both.
When he hit the brakes all the weight transferred to the front wheels and when he turned, the rear wheels had no grip so physics dictated that they continue going foward. A great drift [ala Initial D] until he tries to use opposite steer to continue going in a straight line. He could’ve saved it by smoothly adding to the gas and not over correcting. He didn’t so he didn’t save it.
