How can I search the VIN for a " classic car "… pre 1980
any info would be helpful?
I have searched but alot of VIN sites don’t pull up the all MODELS??
What do you want to know?? Do you want to decode a VIN?? Your best bet will be to look up forums specific to the model of car you’re looking for. Google tends to be pretty helpful for this.
Well I bought another car, ( its not really a BIG deal ) and was just curious about the VIN plus I am really not sure what I would find with a VIN search. BUT WHAT THE HECK
What exactly is decoding a VIN? I guess I will search that…but hey you could tell me too 
i am a part of a model specific forum…just thought I would ask some of you around here.
vin decoding you’ll be able to find out build date, place, what motor it was built with, what specific model, etc etc
tells you the type of car, the chassis, it’s order in the build sequence, which country, etc…
so is that all the VIN tells you about a car?

a vin doesnt tell you options.

every car built for the US starts with a 1
well with pre-1980 vehicles the VIN is not 17 digits
either way… that info provided above would be interesting, but I pretty much now what I want to about the model. Although it would be neat to know where it was built…
I just couldn’t find a site for the MAKE of the car and it being less than 17 digits.
