Cleaning Shoes?

Well one of my fav pairs of shoes ever got extremely fucked up at my summer job (sand/soda blasting) me not thinking before i wore them there, nearly brand new. so now that I just thought about them because i was looking for new shoes. they’re discontinued and not so cheap when you can find them, so i’d like to attempt to revive these. The tongue is like packed solid with soda but the rest of the shoe seems clean able. anyone have any ideas without me going crazy?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I realize their just shoes, but i guess they have a bit of sentimental value…considering i’ve had 11 pairs of them…

Well from what I know (and it’s not a lot about this) it would probably come down to the material the shoe is made of. I wanna say that if it is like a suede/nubuck material your probably screwed. But is its like a leather or some other sort of flat non porous material you might have a shot.

-What kind of shoe?
-What material?

suede/nubuck
no pics yet, i have one on my phone…

thanks!

yeah you are probably fucked…

they must sell some sort of leather/suede cleaner at a leather store. that and s oft bristled brush would probably do it. If its just faux suede toss em in the washing machine.

I’m gonna pressure wash them and see how it goes… lol.

it wil rip the seems to shreds if you get to close.

well i did industrial sandblasting with them and they held up extremely well thru months of that…

and you are surprised they’re ruined?

maybe try sandblasting them?

^ lol

Who said that? lol.

I’m just surprised that I didn’t think before I used new shoes for a job like that…Well not really surprised but I’m pretty dumb :stuck_out_tongue:

try cleaning raw sewage from a brand new pair of shoes. I worked as a plumber at Darien Lake this past summer and I couldnt find my work boots so I had to wear my new sneakers. Yeah they got covered in shit. I was soooo pissed.

lol ew, that’s kinda how i feel about this :frowning:

oh well, live and learn i guess
