Starting to get a little oxidation/rust spots on my exhaust. Are there any products that can be used to clean it up and help protect it? I don’t have a clue what type of metal it is. I’ve used mothers metal polish on wheel lips and stuff, but is there something better for exhaust?
is it stainless…if soooo…brillo pad or there is a ss cleaner u can get at any grocery store near the comet cleaner…
Scotch bright and a degreaser worked for me.
I’ve got scotch brites, I’ll try that. I’m guessin its not SS since it has little rust spots. Unless stainless is just a coating and the coating wore off, if that makes sense. How hot does exhaust get, can I spray it with the high temp engine paint in clear?
If it’s magnetic, it’s not stainless.
it could be 409 stainless. 409 is magnetic… and will turn a light brown… you can clean it off, but it will just come right bac
