I’ll end all of this for ya. The reason GM went with the 2.0 is for one its based off of the 2.0 that GM races in the drag circuit. In that cicuit your not aloud to have a motor stoke higher than 2.0. Second GM got with Honda to make this motor. So in reality this is a Honda motor cause thats who designed it. Third its not even close to a Cavi 1320 not even close. Its designed better quiter stronger frame and platform more space and looks entirely better than a civic, sentra, corolla that it is made to compete with. I work for C3 Chevy as a salesman and we’ve been sellin them like hot cakes. You can’t tell me civics or corollas or sentras are sellin like that. Chevy has benn the # 1 selling brand in this area for 6yrs. And will continue on doing so with this new car. And also that SS I got to drive and it is a badass car. Its acutlly underated. The HP is actually around 225-230 and 200-205 at the wheels. So don’t think it ain’t fast cause its only 205HP its more.

Post up the sales numbers for the cobalt and compare them to the other competitors, I would like to see this.

On the cobalt, are they offering any type of dealer installed upgrades as far as power? And just curious what do the cobalt ss’s run high 14’s?

The SS runs a 14.9 in the 1/4 mile. Kinda slow actually. But it is torquey as hell and has alot of wheel hop. So traction is kinda a problem. Plus it ways 3880LBS. Heavy as hell too. GM is supposed to come out with dealer options for performance but don’t look for it anytime soon.

As far as the guy who said he didn’t believe what I said because I’m a salesman. You don’t have training on Chevy product do you? You don’t take 10 test a year on comparison product to become certified to sell GM product do you? You don’t work around cars 13hrs a day sellin them do you? And you sure don’t have the passion for cars that I do definately. My friend bought the red SS that was at Baierl. He used to own a 98.5 Contour SVT which is rated at 195hp and the Cobalt is much faster than that car was.

And it doesn’t sound too bad for being stock.

BTW, I like the ECOTEC Cavalier better than the Cobalt. And Cobalt is a gay name for an overpriced J-body replacement. Do they even offer an SVP Cobalt?
