Need to borrow a Cobb Accessport for a few about an hour to unlock an ECU that had an accessport port installed. I can compensate you with $$$
what kind of car?
edit… guessing subaru by the code in the title?
The accessport that you borrow, has to be uninstalled from the owner’s vehicle before you attempt this.
Straight from COBB:
"The version 2 AccessPORT (i.e. the current version - gray with color screen) can overwrite a previous version 1 or version 2 AccessPORT install. To do this, you would need either a brand-new v2 AccessPORT or a used v2 AccessPORT that has been uninstalled from the vehicle. You can verify this by going to the “AccessPORT” -> “About” screen and checking the installed state. Of course, the AccessPORT part number (SUB-003 in this case for 2011 WRX) has to be correct for the vehicle you are attempting this on.
From there, you simply install the v2 AccessPORT. If a v1 or v2 tune is on the ECU, then it will recognize this and give you the option to overwrite. Then you are good to go. If you just want the stock map on the ECU at any time after you’ve overwritten, then you simply uninstall the AccessPORT.
This procedure will also work for some, but not all Ecutek tunes. Impossible to tell beforehand, though (you would just have to give it a try), although we know for sure that overwriting the 02-03 WRX will not work (other cars are dependent on how new and what type of Ecutek tune it is). If it has an Ecutek tune and it is not one that can be overwritten by the v2 AccessPORT, then you will receive an error when it attempts to start the reflash process."
That is correct I just need to put this STi back to stock after a botched tune that cost 1 short block already. Don’t really feel like spending $600 to put this car back to stock.
i know you’re probably trying to do this but you can just call cobb and they will reflash it back to stock.
whoever has the AP now just has a $600 piece of junk because it’s still married to that ecu and can’t be used until it’s uninstalled from that ecu lol. if it’s tuned with v2 it can’t be overwritten… if it’s tuned with V1 it can be.
I have the AP 002 version but am in Rochester
