690MB I think…fits on a CD
Whoever mentioned using system restore :tif:
You should probably find out how you got the malware/virus on your computer before just using roll back which could leave things sitting around still.

WHATS ROLL BACK?
Like I said when I posted it, I have had no more issues with it. So if it is sitting around, it isn’t active anymore for me.
Use at your own risk…
Here is my torrent for my Ultimate Boot CD For Windows
Awesome. Thanks for seeding. Daymnnn…what kind of connection do you have?
I’m setting up a W2K server at home and I’ll be seed once I get a comp I can run all day long. :grouphug:
When you DL and install Malwarebytes, it should create all of its relevant files in the folder C:/Malwarebytes… or whatever. Inside that folder is the MBAM.exe file that you should copy and rename to XXX.bat
(The reason to do this is because the virus program stops MBAM.exe from running.)
But also, when you first DL Malewarebytes and run the installation, don’t just extract/save the files into the default “Malewarebytes…” folder that it suggests. Actually re-name it to something different. I named the folder on mine “111”. Then you can easily find it, re-name the .exe file, and it should run successfully.
Also as a side note, I work on computers 24/7 and I’ve gotten this pain in the ass malware twice myself… and I’ve fixed multiple other people’s cpu’s who have too. (That was before I had Security Essentials though). It’s a pain to get rid of but not impossible. I’m pretty sure one time it came from browsing a torrent / file share site, and another time it came from browsing a MySpace page. Didn’t actually download anything, all of a sudden it just pops up and screws ya.
The other thing… if someone is an idiot on a computer… do NOT set them up with an admin account… set them up with a general user account; it cuts down on how bad they can FUBAR a computer dramatically.
I did this at my Dad’s house. He can get into everything, but I had him set everyone else in the house up with general accounts cuz my step mom and step brother don’t know shit about computers.
My god yes. Somebody got lazy here back in the day and half these users have local admin.
Coupons.com, fubar.com, smileysthatfuckyourcomputerup.com etc… all get installed here daily. WTF
I didn’t read most of the thread.
rename your MBAM.exe to hello.exe or something. it will run.
Could I grab this before you take it down? Thx
I usually dont take down torrents…I let them run as long as possible.
