Do SSD make that HUGE of a difference? On the Windows Experience Index my pc has 5.9 and its because of the HDD. The others are 7.2 and higher. I have i7 2630@2ghz, would I notice it really? Disk is a 7200 16mb cache 700gb currently. Seems like SSD should be cheaper quickly, like portable drives have done.
Boot up times would decrease, etc. They are cheaper. A 60GB used to run like $250. Now they are in the low-mid hundred range. They will eventually phase out the normal discs once they get the ability to offer 1TB SSD’s for good price, etc.
For most people, 1TB is over kill. I think once they hit that range, all PC’s will switch to SSD’s.
