It has come up a lot now in the News Media that Rush Limbaugh is the new leader of the Republican Party/Conservative movement.
What the News Media has not done, and I wish that they would, is ask conservatives if they view Rush as their voice or ideological leader.
This thread/poll is not really for liberals as it would be clear on where they stand on the issue. But rather our conservative members of the board such as JayS and Jeg.

I think he does come up with some decent points but he is VERY extreme and tends to dwell on subjects in his shows. I can only listen to him for so long before I am sick of hearing the same shit. But I do agree with a lot of things he says. I would say like 50% or so.

I hate him, yet I listen everyday on the way to work/school.
I see the republican party splitting soon. The crazys that believe in Rush Limbaugh, and the sane people who are into reforming government and not focusing on bogus issues that they aren’t going to change (religion, abortion, guns, gays)

I remember when he said that the Obama campaign uploaded the stimulus as a PDF so you can’t search for words within the stimulus. He said it was a conspiracy to cover up what the stimulus was really about.
Rush is an idiot and any that takes him seriously as a political type is also an idiot. I feel that the Extremist types such as this on both sides of the political spectrum should be sent off to never be seen again.

This topic comes up every few years it seems. Nothing has changed in that Rush makes his living off doing EXACTLY what he does. He’s a more powerful voice on the radio with his show then he ever would be with any real power.
I think there’s some truth to what he says and I also think that he is far too extreme to take seriously. Then again that seems to be pretty common these days on both the liberal and conservative side. Anyone who doesn’t see that is an idiot. I could never stand to listen to Rush for any prolonged periods of time. I don’t think that man is an idiot…I actually think he’s doing pretty well for himself, but do I listen to his show? Nah, he annoys the hell out of me.
I live with my grandfather and he listens to rush everyday and I end up catching a decent amount of his show everyday. While I don’t agree with everything he says atleast his show makes you think about issues, and he raises alot of good points. It certainly beats listening to fm radio imo.

All these labels do is promote the mob mentality and prevent positive ideas and legislation from moving forward on the basis of affiliation.
